Role Overview:

6K Energy is seeking a Documentation Control Specialist to support the management of the document control system.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive the document control and engineering change management processes, software, and systems
  • Assist in the development and improvement of management of change, document control, record control and other documentation processes and software
  • Work with technical staff to ensure engineering documentation is up to date
  • Update linked and cascading documents upon implementation of change processes
  • Draft document templates, specifications, control plans, etc. with direction from technical team
  • Participate in quality system audits, in particular related to document and record control
  • Manage product lifecycle documentation and bills of material
  • Work with limited supervision to release, update, and process Engineering Change Orders
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Education:

  • Associates/Technical Degree (e.g., Associate in Applied Science or similar) or relevant experience

 

Experience:

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience within APQP, ISO9001 or other relevant quality management systems
  • Experience within chemical manufacturing or R&D environments is preferred

 

Competences:

  • Organizational skills: Need to ensure team is using most recent revision of engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Written communication skills: When writing new documentation or updates to existing documents, instructions must be clear. This is essential to ensure that procedures are followed correctly, and documents completed accurately.
  • Attention to detail - Documentation specialists must be efficient in noticing even the smallest of errors in documentation completion
  • Team working - although many of the tasks require strong independent working skills, the documentation specialist can have a role in coordinating other staff members who contribute to documentation creation, completion, or review
  • Follow through – Independently driven to complete tasks but also follow up with technical staff to keep documentation process moving. Send reminders, elevate issues when the process is dragging.
  • Proven work experience as a drafter or similar role.
  • Basic computer/IT skills
